Shin Oblander
About Me:
I am a doctoral candidate in the Marketing division of Columbia Business School. In summer 2024, I will join the University of British Columbia as an assistant professor (in the Marketing and Behavioral Science division of the Sauder School of Business).
I am primarily a methodologist, working on both statistical/econometric methods and probabilistic machine learning methods for modeling consumer decision-making.
My research has been published in Marketing Science and I am in the top 1% of authors on SSRN by downloads. My work has been featured in news outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and New York Magazine.
My name, Shin, is pronounced like "sheen" but with the "ee" shortened. My pronouns are they/them.
